The daily stimulation injections are subcutaneous, with a very fine needle — most people describe them as a pinch and a slight sting. Monitoring scans are internal but brief, five to seven minutes, with mild pressure. Egg retrieval is done under short sedation, so you will feel nothing during it; afterwards, expect period-like cramping and bloating for a day or two. Embryo transfer needs no anaesthesia and feels like a smear test.

The part that hurts most, for almost everybody, is the fortnight of waiting afterwards. That is not a joke and we plan for it.

Less than you fear. For a full IVF cycle, most people take one full day for egg retrieval, a half day for transfer, and manage everything else around office hours.

Injections are done at home, in the evening, at a time you choose. If your job is physically demanding or involves long travel, tell us at the planning stage and we will build the cycle around it.

No. Sex determination and sex selection are prohibited in India under the PCPNDT Act, 1994, and prohibited again for ART clinics under the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021.

We will not do it, we will not hint at it, and we will not refer you to anyone who does. If genetic testing of embryos is clinically indicated for you, the report we receive and discuss is restricted to the chromosomal findings relevant to viability — nothing else is disclosed to anyone, including us.

It means this clinic and its laboratory are registered on the National Registry of ART Clinics and Banks, that our embryology facility meets the specified standards, and that our staffing, record-keeping and consent processes are auditable by the appropriate authority.

Practically, for you, it means: written informed consent for every procedure in a language you read; donor gametes only from a registered ART bank, never sourced by us directly; insurance cover for the donor as required by law; a cap on the number of embryos transferred; and records of your treatment retained for at least ten years. Ask any clinic to show you their registration. A clinic that hesitates has told you something.

There is no honest single answer, but there is an honest way to think about it. Cumulative chances rise across the first three cycles and then flatten considerably; for most people under 38, three well-run cycles is where the curve does most of its work.

What we will do is agree a review point before you start — usually after cycle two — where we sit down, look at what the lab actually saw, and decide together whether to continue, change the approach, or stop. Stopping is a legitimate medical decision and we will say so out loud if we think it is the right one.

Indian ART law defines who may access which services, and we follow it. For a commissioning couple, we need marriage documentation, government photo identity and age proof for both partners. Requirements differ for single women accessing ART, and we will explain exactly what applies to your situation at the first visit rather than over the phone.

Everything we collect is stored under your file number, not your name, in a locked system, and is never shared with family members without your written instruction.

In most Indian policies, IVF and related ART procedures are still excluded, although a small number of newer corporate group policies have begun to include limited fertility benefits — and a few employers in Ahmedabad now reimburse a portion directly.

Diagnostic work-up, day-care admission for retrieval, and treatment of complications may be claimable even where the cycle itself is not. Our billing desk will give you an itemised, claim-ready invoice at no charge, and will complete any pre-authorisation paperwork your employer or insurer needs.

You will hear it from a doctor, by phone, on the day — never as a report in an app and never from the reception desk. We book that call in advance so that you are not ambushed by it at work.

Then, about a week later, we sit down for a proper review: what the follicles did, what the eggs looked like, what happened at fertilisation, what the embryology notes say, and what we would change. That review is free, it is not a sales meeting, and quite often it ends with us suggesting a pause rather than another cycle.

Yes, and a good number of people do. The first 45 minutes are free and carry no obligation whatsoever — you can leave with a written summary and never come back, and that is a perfectly good outcome.
